John M. Stahl est un réalisateur américain, né le 21 janvier 1886 à New York et mort le 12 janvier 1950 à Hollywood, d'une crise cardiaque. Il est surtout connu pour ses mélodrames, dont plusieurs ont été refaits par d'autres réalisateurs (Douglas Sirk, Robert Stevenson).
