Charles William Goyen (24 avril 1915 – 30 août 1983) était un écrivain, éditeur et enseignant américain. Né à Trinity (Texas), il s'installa avec sa famille à Houston. Il enseigna à l'université de Houston puis servit dans l'U.S. Navy pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il mourrut d'une leucémie en 1983 après avoir fini son dernier roman. Il était marié à l'actrice Doris Roberts.
